Started drawing mostly cars, spaceships during
my young days (<10 yrs old). I was introduced to the world of
Mechas by a primary school friend and started drawing robots. Teachers
were not impressed by my robot pictures scribbled in my textbooks.
It wasn't until I was much older around 14-15 that
I started drawing humans, more specifically women. I had seen a
picture of one of the girls in Gundam, and sorted like it. My first
attempt was pathetic.
It was around this age that I became interested
in computers and programming and so my art like took a back-seat,
with only one or 2 pictures a year. I wasn't until I was in the
University (almost 5 yrs later) that I started to pick up drawing
seriously.
My first CG computer image was done a long time
ago on an Apple II computer using PrintShop. That image was also
my first human (female of course) done on a computer. I used various
paint programs to draw on-and-off. It wasn't until I started using
Photoshop 3.0 that my CGing skills got better. However, I never
bothered to learn how to use Layers...Photoshop was like MS Paint
with anti-aliasing. It wasn't until last year (2002) that I learnt
how to use Layers....dumb eh?
